Our Local Area

Our farm is located in the village of Wissett

Wissett is a small rural village of 200 people in north east Suffolk, just 10 miles from the coast.

The Saxon round tower church of St Andrew’s has regular services and is open for visitors everyday.

Wissett is also home to Valley Farm Vineyards, a short walk away from us and the vineyard is open for tours and tastings.

The market town of Halesworth is 3 miles away. There is a good range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants, plus a weekly Wednesday market. There is a Co-operative supermarket, two fuel stations and the main line railway station with hourly links to London Liverpool Street. The Cut Arts Centre hosts varied performance events, films and festivals throughout the year.

Suffolk enjoys a rich heritage of medieval churches and traditional village pubs. The coast is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From your cottage doorstep you have Southwold, Aldeburgh, Walberswick, Dunwich, Minsmere and Orford all within a short drive. The market town of Beccles is a 15 minute drive from us and is the start of the spectacular Norfolk Broads. We are situated along the Suffolk/Norfolk border which makes us the perfect place for a farm holiday where you can explore two of the country's most beautiful counties.
